CARE REMINDERS

WEEKS BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT

  • Please, plan your vacations accordingly to your appointments. It will take about 4-5 weeks for your eyebrows to fully heal after initial procedure, and touch-ups. Rays can alter the pigment. Please no intentional tanning 4 weeks prior to application. If you get sunburn on your face, you must allow it to heal for 4 weeks.

  • You must stop taking antibiotics 3 weeks from your procedure. Please consult your doctor before doing so.

  • No laser procedures, botox, injections or peels should be done 4 weeks prior to your microblading procedure.

  • No intentional tanning 4 weeks prior to application. If you get sunburn on your face, you must allow at least 4 weeks for it to heal.

  • If you don’t feel well in general, have a cold or any symptoms of sickness, please contact us to reschedule your appointment.

  • No waxing, tweezing or tinting 3 days before the procedure; electrolysis no less than 5 days before. Do not resume any method of hair removal for at least 2 weeks.

  • Eyelash or eyebrow tinting and/or curing should be done no sooner than 48 hours before, or at least two weeks after the procedure.

  • Microneedling should be done no sooner than 2 weeks prior to your procedure.

  • Exfoliating treatments such as microdermabrasion should not be performed within 2 weeks prior to procedure

DAYS BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT

  • We suggest washing your hair before your appointment. You will not be able to get your eyebrows wet for at least 2 weeks.

  • 24 hours prior to your appointment, do not consume alcohol, caffeine or anti-anxiety/depression medications. Doing so will increase blood thinning, and can cause you to bleed and push out pigment – resulting in less color retention.

  • Do not take Asprin, Ibuprofen, niacin, vitamin E, Fish oil or any blood thinning medication.

  • Please note that you will be more sensitive to the microblading procedure during your menstrual cycle.

DAY OF YOUR APPOINTMENT

  • Immediately after the procedure, gently blot the area with a clean cotton pad and filtered/distilled water (or boiled spring water at lukewarm temperature) to remove bacteria and dead skin. No matter what time of day the procedure ends (8am or 10pm) blot every hour (with a new cotton pad) for the rest of the day. This will also help absorb the excess lymph fluid until the oozing has stopped. If your procedure ends anytime after 8pm, continue to repeat this step the following day for half of the day.

  • The area will feel like a sunburn. You may take Tylenol (try to avoid Advil for 1 day) to help alleviate any swelling or apply a clean icepack washed with anti-bacterial soap and wrapped in paper towel to the treated area only if necessary.

DAYS AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT

  • Day 2 – Please be aware that the color intensity will be significantly darker and sharper the day after the procedure– this normal. The color will get gradually darker and more defined day by day. The color will be 50-60% darker during the healing process and then will soften/lighten once the results are final. Your brow can appear more solid at this point – this is normal.

  • After day 2, Blot the healing area with a tissue every 1-2 hours

  • Day 2 - 7: Wash your brows with your aftercare soap in the morning and at night for the next 5 days ONLY. After you wash your brows, place a small amount  (no larger than the size of a crumb) onto  the healing area. Use one end of the Q-tip for the eyebrow and the other end of the Q-tip for the other to avoid any cross contamination. Do not over apply as this will suffocate the skin and delay healing.

  • You may experience minor (normal) symptoms during the healing process: Minor swelling, redness, tenderness, itchiness in the eyebrow area, dry flaking skin.

  • Day 5 - 10 - light to heavier scabbing may occur and persists though day 10.

1-2 WEEKS AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT

  • Blot the healing area with a tissue as often as needed. Oily skin should blot more frequently. Moisturize – sparingly with the aftercare gel provided to you; 1-2 times a day for oily skin to maintain crisper stokes and3 – 4 times if you have extremely dry skin).

  • Day 12 - Brows should begin to lighten and soften up considerably. Should appear "less patchy".

  • Touch up visits should always be schedule 30-40 days post procedure (a minimum of 4 weeks but no more than 6-8 weeks)

  • Please note: in many cases, some unevenness of color is to be expected. This is the purpose of the Touch—up visit as it allow us to perfect your enhancement. This is included in your initial cost if you come within the 4-8 weeks time frame.

  • When the scabbing comes off the hair stokes, it may seem faded. This is because a fresh layer of skin has healed over the brow tattoo. Give your brows a few weeks and the hair stokes will become clearer.

  • However, please note – not everyone’s hair stoke brow can heal clean and crisp. Hair stokes on oily skin types tend to heal more powdery while drier skin types tend to heal more crisp and defined. Additionally, those who bleed more may need more touch ups as the blood pushed the pigment out during your microblading procedure

  • If you are on vacation in a hot climate or doing any intention tanning, please ensure it is at least 4 weeks after your procedure. AFTER your eyebrows have healed to prevent fading, once your eyebrows are healed use sunscreen directly on your brows with no less than SPF 30 every time you are under the direct sun

KEY CARE REMINDERS

  • Always wash your hands thoroughly with anti-bacterial soap before touching the tattooed area. You don’t want to get the area infected!

  • Do not wash your eyebrow area with soap.

  • Never apply lotion/oil on damp or wet tattoo. Other oily products to avoid; Aloevera, vitamin E, Homeopathic/natural products. They can pull the pigment color out of your skin and cause healed results to look blurred or faded.

  • Do not rub/scratch or traumatize the procedure area while it is healing; touching the procedure area with your fingers may cause an infection from unseen bacteria. Furthermore, your fingers may have added oils that can cause the pigment color to be removed.

  • Sabbing in a normal part of the healing process. Don't freak out if your scabbing comes off and it looks like it's taking pigment away with it. This process can leave a "patchy" apperance to the brows which is why you should not pick at your scabs - let them fall off NATURALLY. Picking your scabs can cause scarring, premature loss of pigment/hair and even an infection. The approximate scabbing period is 14 days however, healing can be prolonged if you’re immune system is compromised if you are generally stressed, and by poor diet.

  • No makeup around your eyebrows, lash tinting during the entire healing process – makeup with suffocate the area and won’t allow the area to breathe and heal properly -causing irritation and excessive scabbing

  • No sweating (salt is your worse enemy and will draw out the pigment!); No heavy work outs, saunas, laying out in the sun, swimming in chlorinated pools/ jacuzzi’s/ocean until area is completely healed.

  • If you have bangs or like to wear your hair on your face, you must clip them back for the first 7 days to avoid irritation and infection.

  • Absolutely no sun exposure or tanning for 3-4 weeks after procedure.

  • If you are a “face-sleeper” then sleeping on clean, satin pillowcase is suggest while the procedure area is healing.

  • If you’re a blood donor, you may not give blood for 1 year following your procedure (Per Red Cross)

  • Trust the process!
